Trying to stay one step ahead of chaos!

First I want to start with a shout out to girl at Ms. G in Grade 3.....she reached 100 followers!!  She got a great giveaway going on to celebrate so go check her out!!

I went to bed last night feeling sorry for myself because I only have on free Monday left....one stress-free, sleep in, do whatever I want Monday.....and that made me a little sad.  As I was sitiing in bed trying to finish a book I realized, I may only have on free Monday left of this summer, but I about 10 free Mondays to look forward to next summer!!!

In an attempt to make our crazy start to the school year a little smoother than normal, I spent Sunday afternoon making freezer meals, pizza dough, and banana bread.  It really didn't take more than a couple of hours (not including bake time for the bread), and I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to have all these yummy goodies in the freezer ready to go on a a busy night, when I don't have time to cook!

I started with 5 slow cooker meals.  This was the easiest thing ever and took less than an hour.  You can get all the recipes from The Krazy Coupon Lady.  First I created a hash brown and ham number.  It's full of sour cream and cheese, and not in the least bit figure friendly, but on a cold winter night.....it's gonna be amazing!

Next up....pork shops!

French dip.....honestly people, it doesn't get easier than this one!

The last two were chicken dishes that will later be served over rice or pasta. First I made Honey Garlic Chicken....I completely forgot to snap a pic of this one :(  I ended the slow cooker fest with Brown Sugar Chicken!

The pizza dough recipe came from The Curvy Carrot. She says you can freeze it so that's what I did! I made enough for four pizzas.

The other two loaves of dough were rising and the other banana bread was in the oven!

I finished the afternoon with two loaves of banana bread.  The recipe is my Moms and it's my favorite!!

I'm hoping to complete the process again over Christmas break so we have some quick freezer/slow cooker meals all school year!

  1. Love this idea~ I know it would be such a time saver and would also keep me from just ordering pizza on those super busy nights!
