Teacher Tuesday

So I have been completely overwhelmed with all the fun things I want to make, do, create, copy, and buy this summer. I have approximately 1,000,000 ideas floating around in my head and it has quickly become out of control!  When that happens I become frozen, and I don't want to be frozen this summer. I want to accomplish all the fun things on my summer list, but I've got to get organized and bring the list down to a manageable level.  In order to do that I'm copying a terrific idea from Tara at Fourth Grade Frolics (p.s. love her absolutely fabulous blog!) She had committed to completing her teacher projects by setting aside Monday as a Make It Monday. On Mondays she will complete a teacher project and post it, and by the time summer is over she'll have them all done!  There's even a linky party if you want some more fabulous teacher ideas!

This was exactly the kind of organizational idea I needed so I changed mine up a bit and am calling it Teacher Tuesday. Each Tuesday I'll feature a summer project that I've completed for my classroom.  With this manageable goal I'll be able to get all those projects done before school starts!

This week I created a Teacher Binder!!!  Being the organizational freak that I am, this binder makes me smile every time I look at it!  I got the idea from Jenn at Beyond the Grades  Here's how it turned out....

The cover!  I found some free printable scrapbook paper on Pinterest.

I added a pencil bag to keep my grading pens, sticky notes, a calculator, and stickers.

I'm planning to use the same form she uses for Student Data.  The original is from Busy Teacher Cafe, but I'm going to tweek mine a bit to make the testing section more detailed for our state.

and I just couldn't resist decorating the back (yes, this picture is horrible).

I purchased the white binder and tab dividers at Walmart for under $10.  I printed the paper and used some scrapbooking paper I already had on hand, so it was super cheap.  I've just go to print calendars, student information forms, class lists, and gradebook pages.....all to be done at the last minute, just before school starts.....I cannot wait to use this thing for the 2012-2013 school year!!!

Next week I'm tackling student number sticks and the classroom library!!!

  4. Love the binder... Quick observation though: you have "facuTLy" instead of "facuLTy" on one of the dividers.
